The other reason (and maybe more important reason) that I’m going
to stop the official cleanse is that I’m not feeling any better than I do when
I eat non-cleanse healthy. I figure, if I don’t feel any better than normal and
I’m not enjoying myself, then I might as well eat other healthy food.
I did end up breaking the cleanse today with dinner: drunken noodles with fried tofu and spring rolls with peanut sauce (those might be Crazy Sexy).
| mmmm! |
However, I’m going to apply the “take the best and the leave
the rest” attitude to my diet. I enjoy juicing and drinking smoothies
(especially the pineapple basil one!!!) so I’d like to continue with that. I
love eating Crazy Sexy snacks. I learned I love pears! Who knew?! I thought I
didn’t. I’m also in love with spiced almonds. Last week I made curried almonds
and this week I made my own barbeque ones (recipe to come). And I really enjoyed the
flavor of almost every recipe I made, so they’ll still be on my radar. In a
nutshell, I still adore Kris Carr and many of the elements of her diet.
For the future, in terms of healthy eating, I want to try
out at least one recipe from each section of Color Me Vegan, by Colleen
Patrick-Goudreau. I received it for Christmas and have been anxious to test out
some recipes.

Take the best and leave the rest is a great approach. There are so many different eating styles out there. You have to find what makes you feel best. I can't imagine conforming to anyone's diet except my own! Glad you found a few new treats to enjoy while doing the CSD cleanse. And those drunken noodles look amazing! yum :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nikki! :-) I'm definitely feeling happier about eating now. I think it's easier to eat clean when I don't feel obligated to.
